Thermon ThermoTube® Type SL

Description

Thermon ThermoTube® Type SL

Pre-Insulated Tubing for Steam Supply, Condensate Return, and Process Fluid Transport

Thermon ThermoTube® Type SL is a premium pre-insulated single-tube system designed to transport hot or cold liquids and gases while minimizing heat loss and protecting personnel from contact with hot pipe surfaces. Originally developed for steam supply and condensate return lines, ThermoTube Type SL is also widely used for unheated sample lines, utility piping, and industrial process fluid transport.

Unlike field-insulated tubing, ThermoTube Type SL is factory-manufactured with high-quality insulation and a durable weather-resistant jacket, ensuring consistent thermal performance, faster installation, and reduced lifecycle costs.

Product Overview

ThermoTube Type SL consists of a single process tube surrounded by non-hygroscopic glass fiber insulation, a heat-reflective foil layer, and a weather-resistant polymer outer jacket.

This factory-assembled construction minimizes thermal losses, prevents moisture absorption, and provides excellent mechanical protection in demanding industrial environments. Because it is supplied in long continuous coils, installation is faster and requires fewer field joints than conventional insulated tubing.

Benefits

Excellent Thermal Performance

Factory-installed insulation minimizes heat loss and improves energy efficiency compared with field-installed insulation.

Fast Installation

Long continuous coils reduce the number of fittings, insulation joints, and installation time.

Reduced Maintenance

Factory-manufactured insulation provides consistent quality while minimizing the risk of moisture ingress and insulation damage.

Personnel Protection

The insulated outer jacket helps reduce surface temperatures, improving operator safety around hot service lines. Actual jacket temperature depends on the selected configuration and operating conditions.

Flexible Material Selection

A wide range of tube materials allows ThermoTube Type SL to handle steam, condensate, chemicals, compressed gases, and many industrial process fluids.
